DA's yearly update has come around once again and its time for people to wail and whine about the changes. People hate change. It's documented, it's SCIENCE!

Doing away with the front page as it stood was a bold move and bound to upset an attention whore or two. Or twenty(thousand). The front page was the golden chalice of the DA world. While many coveted it, there were but few who were graced with its presence. And while its shadow still lives in the darker part of the bottom of the site, the front page has become a wide open sprawl of otherwise unnoticed art. While it is easy to argue that most of this art goes unnoticed for a reason, I honestly believe that this is a boon for DA on a grass-roots level.

The web of interaction on DA had become quite knotted and bunched up toward the top. But now there are avenues into the network from the bottom up, thus redistributing the flow of many hits into previously unexplored territory. Very meta, I know.

All in all it's a shiny new rollout, so hats off to our overlords(admins). You've stayed my wrath this time. But next time, you might not be so lucky.
