This is a basic overview of my painting process in Photoshop. It's not impressive looking, but it encompasses the majority of my workflow in just a few minutes.
When I say majority, I mean that what I show in this video covers about 95% of my entire time using the program.

People are strange, when you're a stranger. Faces look ugly, when you're alone. Women seem wicked, when you're unwanted. Streets are uneven when you're down.
Aside from a few minor differences, that is about the same as me!
My personal preference is to use "lock transparent pixels" on the base color layer, then work out all the basic shading, then finish out the rendering on a layer up top like you do.
I also have a couple custom brushes I use... I prefer to set the "spacing" on my brush to 10% rather than the default 'cuz the numerous circles you're gettin' bug me, more often than not, heh. And I like to have pressure sensitivity on flow and/or opacity.
I really love your tutorials. You're straightforward, fun to listen to and point out the inner workings of photoshop that I've so far overlooked. I'd -love- to see more of your tutorials.
