This is an overview of what adjustment layers are and a few applications for them. I've included a little content about gradient maps because I'm the only person I have seen use them.

Again, it sounds like minutia, but I seriously use these techniques all the time.

Enjoy!

You're so right about Adjustment Layers! I've been using PS for years and just this January I had learned about A.L. ! Crazy, but after I did, I fell in LOVE with it. That's what Happens when one doesn't take the time to learn the software ;) Great tutorial, wish I saw this years ago :)

You are such a great guy for helping out all us people who don't have the time to learn all these advanced techniques! Your knowledge is extensive, and your straightforward, concise instruction is easy to follow! You rule!
Ooh, I've used some adjustment layers before, but never tried the gradient map. That looks cool. Now I'm gonna have to test it out! Thanks for all your tips and tutorials. ^^
God I love your videos!

Why do you have to "put your two cents in" but it's only a "penny for your
thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going too ?
One thing you didn't mention that is crucial info when working with adjustment layers is how to make them affect only your layer(s) of choice.

Here's how I do it, in case you know of a different/better way: Simply put the adjustment layer in a group folder along with the layer that is to be affected, then change the blend mode of the group folder itself from ' Pass Thru ' to 'Normal'. Then it only affects what's inside the group folder.

It's easy as pie to do, but if you're unaware of it, then trying to figure out how to get that adjustment layer to only affect certain layer(s) can be a real pain in the arse.

Thanks for all these tuts :):horns:
